Experience an Enchanting Andalusian Nutcracker

Alchemy Ballet presents The Andalusian Nutcracker, an enchanted reimagining of Tchaikovsky’s beloved holiday classic. Under the direction of Lorraine Audeoud Spiegler, this original production is set in Granada, Spain at the legendary Alhambra Palace where young María receives a magical Andalusian Horse Nutcracker and embarks on a journey into an enchanted dream world.ballet with others and helping our students achieve their full potential.

The ballet fuses classical technique with the expressive traditions of Flamenco, Moorish, Sephardic, and Middle Eastern dance and music, creating a vibrant tapestry of rhythm, storytelling, and cultural celebration. Featuring Alchemy Ballet students, pre-professional trainees, alumni, and distinguished guest artists—including Furia Flamenca’s Estela Vélez de Paredez and Daniel Paredez, legendary guitarist Torcuato Zamora, the Silk Road Dance Company, and additional invited performers, The Andalusian Nutcracker honors tradition while inviting audiences to see this holiday classic in a completely new light.

Our production is dedicated to Torcuato Zamora, flamenco guitarist of international renown, who turned 90 this year and is credited by the King and Queen of Spain for introducing flamenco music and dance to North America in the early 1960’s.
 

We are honored to have received funding from Arts Fairfax for this new Andalusian Nutcracker and have partnerships with Silk Road Dance Company, Furia Flamenca, and Healing Hearts through the Arts among others.
