From Vaganova to the Cuban School, Ballet Theatre (in Russian) to Danza Contemporánea. Luis Serrano brings expertise from the Escuela Nacional de Ballet de Cuba Training and Zhanna Dubrovskaya brings expertise from the Vaganova School Training
June 22, 2026- July 10, 2026 9:30am- 4:30pm
Advanced, Junior, and Foundation levels
Week 1: June 22-26
Immerse yourself in one week of an exciting intensive in classical ballet training in the Cuban style with master teacher Luis Serrano. The repertoire of Don Quixote, Latin Rhythms of Cuba (salsa, Danzon, Cha Cha Cha, Mambo) and Cuban Fusian Flamenco/ Character. Culminates in an in-studio showing for family and friends.
Week 2: June 29-July 3
Week 3: July 6-10
Master Teacher Zhanna Dubrovskaya, graduate of the Vaganova School, returns to Alchemy Ballet bringing her wealth of training techniques, artistry and performance knowledge. Technique, pointe, variations and repertoire towards the Ballet production of “The Bluebird/L'Oiseau bleu”. Includes character and technique based contemporary dance training and repertory. Culminates in an in-studio performance for family and friends.
Culminating in weekly in-studio demonstrations.

$650/week or $1755 if registering for all three weeks

Storybook Ballet Intensive
The Bluebird/L’Oiseau bleu

Floor barre, classical ballet technique, ballet theatre, improvisation/composition elements inspired by the original story of l’oiseau bleu written by Madame d’Aulnoy. Culminating in an in-studio presentation.

Ballet as Sport for Boys
July 13, 2026- July 24, 2026, 1:00- 4:30pm
Elements ages 4-7, Foundations ages 8-10, Pre-Pro ages 13-16
Week 1: July 13-18
Week 2: July 20-24
Boys will experience the athleticism of ballet: foundational movement and technique, vocabulary and concepts. Floor barre, ballet barre and across the floor work. Videos of ballet and sports movements are compared and contrasted. Culminating in an in-studio presentation at the end of each week.
Fees:
$150/week

Ballet Challenge for Teens: Welcome Late Beginners

Alchemy Ballet Pop-UP Company Project

Audition for a unique summer Trainee and advanced level dancer company project. Classical ballet and contemporary repertoire originating in Russia. New repertoire will be set and premiered in the DC area. Venues TBD.

Programs Built to Inspire and Succeed
Here at Alchemy Ballet Academy, we offer intensive training for ages 6 - 20. Along side our award-winning faculty, we bring in internationally known guest artists to provide young dancers with a full repertoire of movement by the end of the program.
Have an aspiring dancer under the age of 6? We also offer mini intensives with familiar themes for your tiny dancer to experience the joy and wonders of dance from a young age!

Out of state Applicants
Audition Information
For students out of state, we do provide housing options and additional weekend activities so you can get the full experience of Northern Virginia and Washington DC! To audition, please submit the following items to auditions@alchemyballet.org:
- Dance Resume
- Dance Photos: Arabesque en pointe, tendu side, forth position (en pointe if applicable)
- Headshot
- A video: 10-15 minute video including the following: The applicant stating their name, age, and reason for pursuing ballet training; Short combinations at the barre, on one side only, of the following: Plié, battement tendu, rond de jambe par terre, grand battements; Center work: Adagio, petite and grand allegro, turns; Pointe for those applicable: echappes and pirouette combination with pique arabesque.
If an out of state students wishes to pursue year-round training with Alchemy, their attendance in a session of the summer intensive serves as their audition.
